i have a simple save extranal storage drive. I want to save my data from my pos . where do i go to download the right imformation to save on storage drive? do i go to my computer or do i go somewhere else

When you do a backup within the Manager's view this will tell you the location that holds the backup.
I dont recommend copying the sql database directly as this might cause corruptions and restore problems.
I have a simple script that I created and can automate this process for you.
