Sharepoint create duplicate sites when records are merged

Hi Guys

Whenever our client merges two entities together having documents in both records, a master record is created within CRM which is the expected behaviour. However, SharePoint consequently create two default sites. Is this due to the limitation of the merge functionality within CRM? (which we suspect ) If so, is there a workaround so that only one default site is created.

We normally would delete the 2nd share point site manually - any advise/suggestions would be most welcome.

Thanks in advance

Correct - when merging records there isn't any functionality built in to merge existing SharePoint folders. This could be something potentially handled with a plug-in.
