headquarters client cannot connect to HQ server

I have 3 Microsoft RMS 2.0 that connect to the headquarters

2 days ago all RMS clients started failing to connect to the headquarters server with this error message:

======== CONNECTION STARTED =========
Connection to socket was unsuccessful: Message Timeout
An error was detected, connection will be aborted.
======== CONNECTION ENDED =========

I have followed a previous conversation buy GUYLEVY from August 2011 that seems to be the exact same problem that i am experiencing.  However I've tried fixing it the way he did and my problem persists.

I have also tried turning off all of the firewalls on the HQ server and I am still experiencing issues.

Please let me know if there is something else i can do.

I am not sure what an SBC firewall is, but i figured if i turned off all fire walls it should allow the connection.

Thanks

Bonnie

    Bonnie,

    There could be numerous reasons why this has failed.  I suggest getting a Partner involved.

    Potential issues; external IP address at HQ has changed, internal IP address on the HQ Server machine has changed, firewall on the router has changed, port forwarding in router to HQ Server has changed/deleted, HQ Server program not running, HQ's Windows firewall has changed/turned off/on, these are just for starters.

    Hi, I am unable to connect my register to the remote database server.

    I have a central database on HOME-PC where I have created 2 user accounts (home & pop1) and now I have my register with a user account pop1 and trying to connect with the database but no luck so far.

    Plz help I need to set up the systems in a day or two.

    My Usage Scenario

    home = central db

    coord = back office Manager

    pop1 = register 1

    pop2 = register 2

    Firewalls on both machines are disabled. What to do?
