Hi All,

We have a couple of instance that AOS went down unexpectedly.

I checked on the event logs and found the following logs.

System logs

The Microsoft Dynamics AX Object Server 6.0$01-AXPRD service terminated unexpectedly.  It has done this 4 time(s).

Application Log

The description for Event ID 180 from source Microsoft Dynamics AX cannot be found. Either the component that raises this event is not installed on your local computer or the installation is corrupted. You can install or repair the component on the local computer.

If the event originated on another computer, the display information had to be saved with the event.

The following information was included with the event:

Microsoft Dynamics AX Business Connector Session 50.

RPC exception 1722 in Ping occurred in session 61 ,process: Ax32.exe ,thread: 13908

I did some search and it was pointing that BC unable to communicate with AOS server.

Anyone experience the same error previously?

Thanks in advance.

Regards,

Ivan

    Hi Nitesh,

    Thanks for the reply.

I checked the tool try to run it but looks like it was asking me to activate the tool for the errors found during the 'scan' to be fixed. Guess the tool is not free?

Also, the error that we have is in the Production system and not sure it this is recommended to run the tool in the Production system directly.

    Thanks.

    Regards,

    Ivan

    Hi Afsar,

    Thanks for the reply.

The issue we are having is on Production environment with 2 AOS server (server 1 as transaction and server 2 as batch server).

Any input the best way to reinstall BC connector or it's just merely reinstalling using the AX setup?

    Thanks.

    Regards,

    Ivan

    Hi

Consider also to update the kernel with the last version.

    Hi

We've had similar errors in AX before. However its unlikely that the business connector itself is the primary cause. The BC error is probably just means that the Business connector can no longer communicate with AX as the AX server has crashed.

We recently experienced this issue with DMF and AX running on SQL Server 2012 SP2 which is not supported by AX2012.

    Hi Jonathan,

    Thanks for the input.

We are currently running on SQL Server 2012 SP1.

May I check how did you manage to resolve the same errors in AX before?

    Regards,

    Ivan

    Hi Denis,

    Thanks for the reply.

Any consideration I need to looks into before updating the kernel with the latest version?

Does it require to update the Application version as well or updating kernel version and application version don't usually go hand-in-hand?

    RE: AOS service terminated unexpectedly

    Hi Ivan

The Kernel hotfix can be applied without update the Application.

Is enough run the update on ALL AX Components, like AOS, Client, BC, etc.

Usually, Microsoft release more kernel update than application.

So, when we face Crash of some AX components the first thing to do is update with the last kernel version.

If you open a case on MS, also them ask you to update the kernel as the first thing.

    Hi Denis.

Generally one should match kernel version an App version as far as possible as they do rely on each other unless specifically stated otherwise. We've quite often gotten errors when having too new Kernel versions compared to Application versions.
