Error Creating Article with Dynamics 365 OOTB Template: Unexpected Token Issue

Posted on by 14
I'm using the latest version of Dynamics 365. When I try to create an article using the out-of-the-box (OOTB) template, I get the following error message. I've also included the text from the log file. The 'unexpected token' shouldn't be an issue, as I'm cutting and pasting from Microsoft Word. To be sure, I've even tried using a single character and still get the same error. Additionally, the plugin it references doesn’t exist in the environment. See the screenshot from the XrmToolBox Plugin Registration Tool.

Exception Message: '=' is an unexpected token. The expected token is ';'. Line 1, position 665.

Error Creating Article with Dynamics 365 OOTB Template: Unexpected Token Issue
I resolved this myself. I had initially created a custom knowledge article template within my application and then deleted it from there. The takeaway is that templates for Knowledge Articles in a custom application are managed through the Customer Service Admin Center in the environment.
