CRM Plugin Set Regard/Auto-track Email read receipt

Posted on by Microsoft Employee

Hi All,

One of our users is trying to Set Regard/Auto-track Email read receipt but is saying it only works intermittently. I do not think this is possible (or even advisable) but the User wants to do it.

It is an on premise solution without server side sync.

My question to you Gurus is, is this possible?

    Hi Jay,

    From what I know technet.microsoft.com/.../hh699695.aspx

"Only message class types IPM.Note and IPM.NOTE.Rules.OofTemplate.Microsoft are tracked and saved in Microsoft Dynamics CRM. For a list of known message class types, see Office Dev Center: Item Types and Message Classes. "

So if the message is of a different class than IPM.Note then you won't be able to track it into CRM.

You can check the Message Class using MFC Mapi

    Hope this helps,

    Radu
