Hi I have a native GP report (not SSRS) that i would like to get the query for I could try sql profiler but there must be a place where report definition is stored.
GP standard reports are stored in the Dexterity application dictionaries for each product. eg. Dynamics.dic
If you modify the report with the report writer, the modified version is stored in the custom report dictionary. eg Reports.dic
It is possible to export the definition of a customized report as a package file from the Customization Maintenance window. You can open this file with notepad.exe if you want to see the definition, but it is probably not what you are looking for.
If you want to find where particular data is stored in the GP data model, I would suggest using GP Power Tools Resource Information and Resource Finder windows.
Regards
David
Good Afternoon Rob,
All OOTB report (and forms) Meta Data is in the .dic files. The location of these files are defined in your Dynamics.set file.
A lot of the OOTB reports now have a corresponding SSRS report which will utilize a stored procedure that you can then look up and exec from SSMS.
Let us know which report you are looking for and the forum can let you know if there is a stored procedure that builds the dataset.
Thank you,
Hi Rob-
What report are you referring to?
