Hey,

i need your help with following challange:

At the moment we are creating customer letters with a Word template from the entity "contact". (by using the default template function of Dynamics 365)

My goal is, to generate a PDF document (out of the Word template) an send it via mail to the customer (contact). In second step, the pdf document should be saved at the sharepoint (contact - connected documents).

I tried to solve this challange via Flows but I'm really struggeling cause i have no experience building complex Flows.

I'm really looking forward your comments an help.

Best regards, Felix

    Hi Felix,

Use the PDF generation capability of Sales Hub in 2020 Release wave 2 to meet your needs.

Please check if your environment has been enabled 2020 Release wave 2. If not, refer to this document to enable it: https://docs.microsoft.com/zh-cn/power-platform/admin/opt-in-early-access-updates#how-to-enable-early-access-updates

In the environment which is 2020 Release wave 2enabled, first we go to Sales Hub and switch to App Setting section, in the Overview, click Manage of Convert to PDF.

Then select the Contact entity and save.

Open the Contact record, we can see Export to PDF button on the command bar, click it,

The Export to PDF window will pop up, and it will generate PDF based on the Word template, so please make sure that the Contact entity has Word templates.

If you click Email, then the email window will pop up, the PDF has been the attachment.

If you click Save to Dynamics, then the PDF will be saved to the Contact of the SharePoint site.

Here are the steps to follow:
-Click the Microsoft Office Button, point to the arrow next to Save As, and then click PDF or XPS.
-In the File Name list, type or select a name for the document.
-In the Save as type list, click PDF.
-If you want to open the file immediately after saving it, select the Open file after publishing check box. This check box is available only if you have a PDF reader installed on your computer.
    -Click Publish.
    hope this solves your problem.
