Hi all,

Recently I have created and tested in a Sandbox environment. Now we are ready to move other to the production environment that has been setup. Is there an easy was to export the setup of the current system, or do I need to re-create everything from scratch again?

Kind regards,

Matt

    Hi Matthew,

If you want a specific setup then you can just use DMF. Export your data from TEST and import it to PROD.

If you want all data then you can copy the database from TEST to PROD but you need to change some configuration in PROD.

    Hi Parag,

    Thanks for the quick response.

I would want to keep all data that is currently in the system other than any Leave Requests. Do you know how I would accomplish this?

Should I just copy the environment in Lifecycle Services and then delete the Leave Requests from the tables?

When copying do you know if this will also copy and extra custom fields, Power Automate workflows, Virtual Entity setup or PowerApps?

    Kind regards,

    Matt

I see that I can't copy a sandbox environment to production in life cycle services, do you know a way around this?

If you don't see any option then one of the possible solutions is DMF. You can also raise a support request with Microsoft.

    Hi Matthew,

There is only a way to copy the database from PROD to UAT. It is all written in the documentation where it is stated to use the production instance as golden configuration environment and copy the database for testing to UAT. If you made changes in UAT, then you can copy them using data entities or re-apply them manually in the production instance.

    Hi Andre,

I have manged to copy the customisation by downgrading prod to a sandbox environment, copying uat to it, then changing it back to prod.

Does anyone know what would be the easiest way to export and import workers, leave plans, users etc?
