How to use numpad to enter quantity with button grid?

Hi experts,
 
I set a button grid as a Product Sale and link to a product. It work fine if I want to add a product with quantity 1 to sales order, however it won't work with numpad when I want to key an number follow by click button grid. For example, I key 3 and click the button grid to add 3 unit of this product but POS always add only 1 unit.
 
is this by design from Microsoft or need some setting?

    The behavior you're describing in the button grid for entering quantities in POS seems to be related to the default design in Microsoft Dynamics 365 Commerce (or similar POS systems). By default, the button grid is configured to add a single unit of the product when clicked, regardless of the quantity entered using the numpad.

    To enable quantity input using the numpad before selecting a product, you may need to adjust the POS settings. Here's how you can configure it:

    1. Enable Quantity Input Mode:
    • Go to Retail and Commerce > Channel setup > POS setup > POS profiles > Functionality profiles.
    • Locate the functionality profile assigned to your POS.
    • Check if the "Quantity Entry Before Product Selection" feature is enabled.
    2. Use the Quantity Button in Button Grid:
    • Edit the button grid design.
    • Add a button specifically for entering quantity.
    • Map the button to the "Enter Quantity" POS operation.
    • This will allow you to input a number using the numpad, press the quantity button, and then select the product.
    3. Check for System Updates:
    • Ensure your system is updated to the latest version, as newer versions might offer improved quantity handling features.

    How to use numpad to enter quantity with button grid?
    If you want to add an item with quantity using numpad in POS first enter quantity 2 enter '*' and then enter the SKU ID

    Example: 2 * 91100

    The above method works only in numpad and I'm not sure if this configured to be worked as a button in a button grid.
