Hi Experts,

I'm encountering below error in a cloud-hosted development environment for Dynamics 365. when trying to synchronize the database in Visual Studio 2022. Additionally, the Application Explorer is completely empty. What could be causing this issue, and how can I resolve it?

@Zain Mehmood This is clearly a question about F&O, not about Dynamics is general, therefore moving it to the general forum was a mistake. I'll move it to an F&O forum.

@D365 beginner Please give us some context. Are you talking about an environment that used to work or are you trying to setup a new one? If it worked, what has changed? For example, has it stopped working after installing an update? Consider deploying a new VM instead of spending a lot of time trying to fix this one.

    Hi Martin,

This environment was working fine earlier today. The issue started after I deleted a project that I had created today. There were no updates or changes applied to the system otherwise. After deleting that project, the database synchronization failed and the Application Explorer became empty. Any insights on how to recover from this without redeploying the VM would be appreciated.

    Hi @Martin Dráb,

    Thanks for the note
I moved the question to the General forum because the issue wasn’t related specifically to Finance functionality, but rather a technical/development issue involving Visual Studio sync and Application Explorer in a cloud-hosted environment.

Since it’s more about the Dataverse/tools/setup side of Dynamics 365, I felt the General forum was a better fit. But great that you moved it back, just wanted to clarify the intent.

    Appreciate it!

    Zain

@D365 beginner What exactly did you delete? Maybe your modelstore is corrput. By the way, you need to re-compile the model before synchronizing the DB. The deleted objects are still presented in binaries until you recompile the code.

@Zain Mehmood You're wrong in thiking that this isn't specific to F&O and it may be applicable to other D365 products such as Business Central or Sales. Trust me that we're talking about an F&O environment and that Application Explorer is a part of F&O. Also, the question doesn't have anything to do with Dataverse.
