Sales order price change "You are attempting to enter values that will change the source document amounts "

Hi,

We got a sales company creating intercompany orders with direct delivery from our factory to the end customer.

  • There is one sales order in the sales company towards the end customer.
  • One purchase order in the sales company.
  • One intercompany sales order in the company of the Factory

The intercompany sales order and the purchase order are fully invoiced.

At this stage, the sales company discovers that they haven't set the correct price on the sales order towards end customer. The sales order is in status "delivered". They want to correct the sales price before sending the invoice. When changing the sales price the following errors message is shown:

You are attempting to enter values that will change the source document amounts for this purchase order. Because invoicing of this purchase order has started, you are not allowed to make changes to these values.

Question: How could we do to let the user update the sales price on the delivered sales order?

The errors message is clear ("Because invoicing of this purchase order has started, you are not allowed to make changes to these values.") but is there a workaround?

    Hi Mr. W,

I am not getting this error while I change my sales order prices while it is delivered and purchase order and inter company sales order is also invoiced.

What is the status of the "unit price equals to the cost price" check mark in your inter company setup??

    Hi Sagar Suman,

    The checkbox is not checked.

    Hi Mr W,

Can you share the screenshot of your intercompany setup for the purchase order policies and sales order policies.

    Hi,

Maybe the price of your original SO has been populated to the intercompany transactions ?

If so, you cannot change price because every transaction are linked to each other and your interco are invoiced.

In your intercompany setup, is your Purchase order policies > Orginial SO<-> Intercompany PO > prince and discount on line checkbox ticked ?

And what about Purchase order policies >Intercompany PO Prices> Price and discount search ?

And what about the Sales order policies >Intercompany SO Prices> Price and discount search ?

    Hi,

Actually we haven’t made any positive progress yet.

We are trying to reproduce the error but can’t. But new rows with the problems appears every day

Our consultants are going to make a copy of our production environment (containing alot of rows with this problem)  and then do som debugging in the testenvironment.

I will keep you informed when I know more about the problem.

Yes, I have finally got some answers  in this area. :)

The solution for me is to go to the intercompany vendor, general tab and intercompany settings. At the Sales order policies / Intercompany sales order price we had the "Price and discount search" activated. If I deactivate this setting I'm now able to set prices on the orders that before threw the exception “You are attempting to enter values that will change the source document amounts for this purchase order. Because invoicing of this purchase order has started, you are not allowed to make changes to these values.”

So right now I'm setting this parameter on/off when having these problems which seems to be the best workaround for the moment.

The only strange thing now is that I don't see the error message on all orders where both the intercompany sales order and the purchase order are invoiced / invoiced matched. It would be easier to understand if I got the message on all orders... But anyway, when I see the error I know the solution :)
