User missing HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Business Solutions\Great Plains\v11.0\1033\DEFAULT registry key

I have one user with a working GP10 installation.  We are updating our taxing software and get an error that GP 10 needs to be installed first. This one machine does not have the HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Business Solutions\Great Plains\v11.0\1033\DEFAULT registrry setting.  Can I import this key from another machine? I'm worried that it will somehow affect whatever other registry keys are pointing to the GP program location. This machine must have been like this for years and not having this key never mattered during upgrades or third party installs and upgrades.

    No you do not want to import this key from another machine. The key you are referencing is GP 2010 (version 11). I have the following for my GP 10 but it is not be default instance

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Microsoft\Business Solutions\Great Plains\1033\Inst01\SETUP

    You will need to look into uninstall/reinstalling GP if you are unable to run a repair on GP 10.

    My problem is fixed now.  I tried running a repair on GP with no luck.  So I imported the  HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Business Solutions\Great Plains\v10.0\1033\DEFAULT reg key and I was able to update my third party software.  Sorry for the reg key confusion.  The v11.0 was from my test machine.  I imported a v10 key on the users machine.
