Unable to install SL 7.0 SP3 on new server - net framework error

I am unable to install Solomon on a new server. It keeps saying I don't have net framework 3.5 installed when I have 4.0 installed.
Should we uninstall 4.0 and reinstall 3.5?

The server is a 2008 R2 64bit, but I thought SP3 was supported on a 64 bit.

Thanks.  One of our IT guys led me to this solution and it has seemed to solve the issue.

    Thanks for the response.

    Hi Chuck,

SP3 is supported on 64-bit OS.  If you go to start > control panel > programs and features Click on "Turn windows features on or off" then, when the server manager window appears, click on roles.  Look under Role services.  Do you see .Net Framework 3.5.1 in the list of installed role services?
