How to Bill the customer where the client is in hosting service business through Projects module

I am working with a client who has hosting service business. The client use AX 2012 R3 and use project accounting module. The client provides different services like Hosting Service, Email service, Support Service and bills to its customer on monthly basis on the usage, i.e. Agent Billing. Here the sales price per agent per service also depends on the usage per month.

For example:

The contractual terms with a client as follows:

1. Hosting Service @ $10 per Agent for 0-100 Agents, $9 per Agent for 101-200 and $8 201 and above

2. Email Service @ $ 2per Agent for 0-100 Agent, $1 for 101 and above

3. Support Services @ $ 5 per Service request

Need help in understanding how to setup a project and bill the client in this way.

Tried few ways of using Unit of Delivery, where I got stuck in variable pricing criteria and by creating services as items where I got stuck to procure items before sale.

    Hi Soumitra Rakshit,

One possibility is to create different service items for hosting, email and support services.

For those service items you can then set up price/discount agreement journals where you can specify the price in the way described above.

Once that is done, you can create a sales order out of your Project and record the quantities for your agents. When doing that the price/discount agreement setup will kick in and you can post the packing slip to confirm that the service has been delivered.

The last step is then to create the Project invoice.

Would be great if you could test this in a demo environment and let us know if it worked out for you.

    Best regards,

    Ludwig
