How to Pick additional quantity in Production for Scrap w/ Advanced WH Config

Hello,

Currently we are using Backward Flushing for production and Advanced Warehouse Config for picking and put-aways.

When I try to add Quantity in production journal for scrap it says can't add because it remains to be picked.

When I try to pick it says nothing to handle.

What am I missing?

How could I easily handle the scrap?

Thanks,

Dustin

    Dustin,

Let me make sure I am follow you... You are trying to Post in your Production Journal, with Advanced Warehouse in place,  more consumption to account for scrap. Is this correct? With Advanced Warehouse you have to pick raw material to post scrap. To help you streamline this have you thought about adding Scrap to the Production Bill of Material component? This will allow you to Pick the component with built-in scrap factor when manufacturing. Then you will have accounted for scrap on Production Orders.

Note that if your finished output has to be scrapped, enter the Scrap quantity on the Output line.

    Hope this helps.

    Thanks,

    Steve

    Hi Steve,

First, thank you for your response, you've been an excellent help over the last several months.

I understand the built-in scrap feature, but this is not what I'm looking for. The scenario would be: Employee is building 10 of part X which consist of 10 each of A, B, & C. During the build process 4 of A breaks or fails. Now the employee need to request 4 more from the warehouse and scrap 4 to complete the build.

Problem 1 - Can't change part A consumption to 14 because 4 remained to be picked.

Problem 2 - Can't pick an additional 4 because there is nothing left to handle.

    Thanks,

    Dustin

    Dustin,

Ahh, rework or replacements for broken raw components. In the Production Order, Line/Components add another line for the Items you want to pick more of. Then you can Create Warehouse Pick for those Item you are pulling and can be consumed.

    Thanks,

    Steve
