Published apps in Windows Server 2008 Terminal Services

We have a client who is using published apps in Windows Server 2008 with Terminal Services.  I've configured named printers for the network printers and there are also multiple users printing to local printers.  When printing using published apps the configured default printers are not correctly defaulting.  In addition, the print fonts and alignment are incorrect. Has anyone experienced similar issues?

thanks,

Debi

    Debi,

I do not have an answer for you, but have you seen this recent discussion: https://community.dynamics.com/forums/p/21730/34399.aspx#34399?

Thank you Victoria.  I had seen this and tho it's not the same issues it sounds as if there are enough problems to warrant not using the published app functionality.

We are successfully mapping printers using remoteapp using a secret from another site.  Delay the launch of GP after the establishment of the remote session.  The issue seems to be that if GP launches as soon as you connect to the TS then the local printers are not fully enumerated every time.

Create a  launch batch file on the server that pauses 10 seconds before starting GP

Publish this batch file instead of the application in remoteapp (change the icon to the GP one)

The printers will all map every time.

Thank you for the response.  I'm not sure what you mean by a secret from another site but  the rest makes sense.  We will try this to see if it resolves the issue.

Sorry, for the clumsy language.  I was trying to say that I didn't figure this out on my own but a colleague gave me the solution from his site.  And it does work.
