Should I include new plugin and PCF in solution?

I have a solution that I'm about ready to export from Dev. I've imported a plugin (Workflow Tools) and a PCF into Dev and *ADDED* them to the solution I'm about to export.

Will this work okay or do I need to separately import the plugin and PCF into TEST/PROD?

I have the same question (0)

Only need to register the plugin in Dev, your PCF control can also be included.

Make sure that you include both the plugin and the plugin-steps you registered in your solution file.

In the make.powerapp.com both the plugin stuff and PCF are under the Other menu item when you add existing (the PCF is what is referred to as a Custom Control  on that flyout menu)

Thanks for the quick response! Couple of follow up questions.

    • When you say "register" is that accomplished when I import the plug-in solution into Dev or is it separate?
    • I didn't know "plug-in steps" existed. In looking through the list I don't see anything in the Name or Event Handler columns that match with the plug-in that I imported. Is that normal or should all plug-ins have steps that I need to add?

When you develop a Plugin, you have to use the Plugin Registration tool to register (load the .dll) into CRM) and set the steps it will trigger on (create, update etc etc).

If the plugin is imported from a solution file then that does all the registrations stuff as part of the import (behind the scenes).  Most plugins will usually have at least 1 Step, but if it is something like a Custom Workflow Activity then you will see the plugin  but no steps.
