How are wire numbers generated?

While I was generated a check register for a certain month's period. The check numbers are in numerical order. This also included wire / EFT payments which the registered listed below of the live checks issued. What I noticed was that the wire / eft numbers were not in numerical order, they seem to be random.

I would assume these too would be in order, but they're not.

So I wondered, how are Wire numbers that are shown in a check register generated?

That would depend on what type of EFT transactions we are talking about. Generally speaking, if you go under Financial > Cards > Checkbook and select the checkbook ID in question, you can see the EFT button at the bottom. If you click on that button, you will have the ability to setup EFT for Payables and Receivables. In Payables you can choose to have EFT numbers generated by the EFT module or you can choose to use the next check number setup for the checkbook. If it's EFT Receivables, then you can choose to use EFT numbers. If you don't, you will have to manually enter the EFT numbers.

I can't say for sure what you are seeing, but if you feel there's more to clarify, please post a screenshot of what you are seeing.
