How can I find the currently selected company in Business Portal

Hello, We are using GP 2010 64 bit and Business Portal. We are trying to setup a web part that would use the currently selected company from the Business Portal page to return data. We'd like to see it as a variable or parameter or in some other useful manner. We've got a lot of companies, so this would be key in helping to manage our reporting. Does anyone have any information on how to do this?
