Item Inquiry & Smart List dont add up...

Hello,

 I am having a difficult time with GP. I only know the VERY basics of GP, but one thing that just seems odd is that in 'Item Inquiry', I can pull up an item and it will show the correct amount in stock, backordered, allocated etc... Whereas if I pull it up in a Smart List, it will show skewed numbers. Example: The list might show an item to be -100 quantity and have 10 backorders when in reality, there is 0 backordered and 50 in stock.

 Has anyone else experienced this? :(

 Any information would be helpful, thank you!

    Hi,

    Did you build this smartlist in smartlit builder? or did you select a pre-defined list in smartlists and amend / filter it?

    If smartlist builder, what tables are you taking the data from?

    Something else to try to make sure it's not just an issue with your connection to the SQL server.  Run the SmartList directly on the SQL server or restart your computer, go back into GP - are you still getting the same results?  Sometimes if the client computer has lost connection to the SQL server you can get unpredictable results back.

     Still not clear whether you filtered an already defined smartlist in GP to have your desired view and data or created a new smartlist your self. If list was not already there and you created it by using your own SQL statement(SQL Query) then just send me the SQL query you used. Hope I`ll be able to help you.

    Oh sorry, I should have been clearer! I am using a user-defined smartlist.

    I set the search and colums for what I need, correct parts come up... However, the quantity is skewed on alot of them.

    QTY Available, QTY On Hand, QTY Backordered etc will all have random numbers. And no, its not due to location because we only use one site for all of this stuff. It has be puzzled...

    I could have JUST pulled up the smartlist and have a 'item inquiry' open beside it and the numbers are off! There seems to be absolutely no reason for this.... :(

     Hi.

    First thing I need to now is whether u a using a buoilt in SmartList of MSGP or a user defined smartlist. If it is user defined then make sure that Data Retreiving Query is correct. If query is correct or Smartlist is a standard onethen you`ll have to run Check links and reconcile in POP, Inventory and Sales. Hope this will resolve your problem.
