D365FO - Security versions Status

Dear all,
 
I wanted to try out the "Security versions".
 
My issue is that the status is "Not started" after the status has been "Executed"
 
 
 
 
 
 
The consequence is that I get an error message as soon as I open the form to "Compare"
 
 
 
 
I found the batch job creating the snapshot, however, it disappeared from the batch job list, also in the table browser.
 
 
Does it work for you? Am I missing something?

    Hi Adis,
     
    There is a known issue for this feature. Microsoft should move the logic to the batch framework. Sometimes it works, but most likely with smaller data sets, like the standard demo environment. I can't find quickly the issue number.
     
    Apart from that, when you want to perform a comparison, then again you need to execute an update that will populate a table with data. That can take 2-10 minutes to run as well. For comparisons, you can use the existing audit trail on the security configuration page. 

    The versions do have an option to reset the security to a previous state, which could be a valid use case. But then you should for sure know what is the contents of a version.

    I thought I give it a try, but in this case I wait until MS provides a fix.
