The prices of our products change frequently. For years we have used a simple custom script and a data collector (Metrologic ScanPal 2 & AML LDX10) to work prices via text file exports. It is tedious but it beats manually entry. I know there has to be a better way but I had no luck. These old scanners are failing us so often that we have not replaced our last one. I am seeking a better solution. Our script currently allows us to scan the barcode, enter cost price, case quantity and it calculates the sales price from a default markup. We have been doing this manually for several months now and need a replacement solution ASAP.
