Adding related custom entity to form

Posted on by Microsoft Employee

Situation:

Our company needs to add a custom entity for property (real estate properties) and then every lead and opportunity can have a property or properties associated with it.

Question:

How would I accomplish this?

Barry Waldman

Thanks so much!

    You can also do this:

1 - N:N relationship from Lead to Property

2 - N:N relationship from Opportunity to Property.

Hi Aric, I just want to clarify that the property/properties will be a custom entity and I need to be able to associate a lead or opportunity with 1 or more properties so shouldn't I have a sub-grid in the leads and opportunity forms and make properties many to many with leads and opportunities?

Create the entity, and make sure that you add a lookup in the entity to the property (parent) entity.

After you create the entity, go to the properties form and add a subgrid.

The entity that you created should be there for selection.

    Hope this helps.

    Hi,

As per my understanding, the requirement is like:

1 Lead or Opportunity associated with 1 or more properties and

1 Property associated with 1 or more Lead or Opportunities

To implement this you need relate entities in a Many to Many relationships as:

    Lead - Property

    Opportunity - Property

You can associate the records easily in a Many to Many relationship using our company custom AddOn "Drag and Drop Listbox"

    Thank you,
