Configuration Packages - Item Journal with Lot Numbers

I am trying to create a configuration package to do a beginning balance for inventory. Some items are lot controlled.

Normally for a configuration package, I enter the data manually and then do an export to Excel. This helps to do the data mapping.

I created a configuration package with tables 83 - Item Journal Line and 336 - Tracking Specification

The data from the Item Journal Line was in the export but there was nothing on the Tracking Specification tab.

I filled in data on the tracking specification tab and imported from Excel. I also did the Apply Package but there is no data in the Tracking Specification - no lot number.

There were no errors. I have tried various things with no luck. When I did a Ctrl-Alt-F1 to see the table, it appears that 336 is a temporary table - is that the problem?

Is there some trick for this or is it not possible. We do not want to build a solution to import - want to use configuration package.

Any thoughts appreciated

    Hello Laura,

There's an Option in Item Tracking Code - Which can be helpful in creating a link -

RE: Configuration Packages - Item Journal with Lot Numbers

    Hi

We already tried that but as we are using warehouses and need the items to be in a specific location it won't allow us to import using the standard item journal entry it has to be done through the warehouse item journal which doesn't seem to link with the lot number table.

    Thanks

    Laura,

Yes, it is an item journal entry using tables 83 and 337.

You have a line on the first tab for the item journal line and you assign it a line number.

Then, on the second tab, you tie the lot number line to the item by referencing that same line number

Email me at tiggie101@yahoo.com and I will send you a sample file

RE: Configuration Packages - Item Journal with Lot Numbers

    Hi All

Did anyone find a way of doing this as we have a client using advanced warehousing and over 2000 items which we will need to enter the opening stock with and everything needs to have a lot number assigned.

Microsoft advised the wrong tables to be used for warehouse inventory journals and the subsequent lot numbers that need to be assigned but we really don't want to manually line for line have to add lot numbers to over 2000 items for Go Live so any help would be gratefully appreciated?

    Thanks

    Laura

I tried this and while the Item journal imported correctly, the reservation did not update the Item Tracking lines. Is there a step I am missing or should I be importing the data to another table?

RE: Configuration Packages - Item Journal with Lot Numbers

Hi, as Bilal said you need to specify the LOT in table 337 (Reservation Entry).

I would suggest that you make 1 line in the Item journal batch including a lot no. defined in the item tracking before exporting the configuration package to excel, that way you will know what is required to be populated in table 337.

    Hope that helps :)

    Regards,

    Martin

    Hi,

First you should import item inventory to table 83 using RSS and then use table 337 to import information about lots using RSS.
