cannot connect to srs report via VPN

Hi,

My client recently setup a VPN connect from a remote location to the main office. They are connecting to GP/SQL without issue but cannot connect to their SRS report. Here is the error received:

Cannot create a connection to datasource 'DataSource1'. (rsErrorOpeningConnection)

For more information about this error navigate to the report server on the local server machine, or enable report errors.

They have:

1. Configured the client computer to use the default gateway setting on the local network for Internet traffic and a static route on the remote network for VPN-based traffic 2. Verified all protocols and ports are enabled in the VPN setting

Any assistance will be appreciated.

Although I'm sure there is a much deeper system security issue here, I did recently experience the same thing.

As a temporary fix, I established a Data Connection with the 'sa' password hardcoded to it and assigned this to the report in the mean time.

I will try to update this when a better solution is found.
