Retrieve the original URL behind the msdynmkt_targeturl in PowerAutomate

Hi,

I need to setup the following automation, using both Customer Insights an Power Automate, and I was hoping someone could help.

  • We send a URL in a email : example.com/?product_sku=123456789
  • When the contact clicks on the email, we extract the parameter from the URL above.
  • We write that value on the associated contact.

Right now, I can only access the URL that Customer Insights send to the contact, which is not the same as the editor one (I guess it is for tracking purpose).
The problem is that url does not show the parameters and I need PowerAutomate to access it.

Does anyone have an idea how I can access the original URL when a tracked link is clicked?
If this is not possible to access that URL, is it possible to disable link tracking (therefore transformation)?

Special thanks to Dengliang for helping me on the first part of the automation.

Thank you,
Quentin

    Hi,

With the help of Dengliang Li, I realized the Output from Outbound Marketing and Real-Time marketing are not the same. Only real-time marketing displays the targeturl as the original URL (outbound shows the transformed one).
Here is an ouput comparison. Not sure if it is possible to have a fix.

    Hi,

You can remove the link suffix in the HTML interface of the Email Designer.

Note: The link needs to have tracking enabled or it will not be recorded in the email's interaction log and will not trigger Power Automate Flow.

In Flow, the value of msdynmkt_targeturl is the original URL.

    Then, update the relevant contact.
    Row ID: triggerOutputs()?['body/InputParameters/msdynmkt_entityid/Id']
Receive the URL with Job Title field.
