Dynamic Navision for Electronic Procurement Process

I work for an organization that's operating with an outdated procurement process and am interested in proposing to use Navision to its full potential in regards to an electronic procurement process.  Does anyone currently use Navision for their procurement process and if so what are your thoughts? In your opinion what are the pro's and con's.

I have the same question (0)

    Hello,

As Marco noted using NAV or being on BC will fulfill the requirements for procurement processing. I am sure there might be specific needs that need to be ironed out but base out-of-the-box standard allows you to create Requisition Worksheet for purchaser and utilize Approval Workflow if needed. In addition, you can employ sending Purchase Orders via email or XML outbound. If you require more advanced processes, there are a few APP's / Addons that fall into the procurement area. Here is an basic overview of Purchasing and Electronic Documents:

    docs.microsoft.com/.../purchasing-manage-purchasing

    docs.microsoft.com/.../purchasing-how-to-receive-and-convert-electronic-documents

If you need APP's or Addons to look at here:

    appsource.microsoft.com/.../apps

    Hope this helps.

    Thanks,

    Steve

RE: Dynamic Navision for Electronic Procurement Process

    Hello,

Why not considering Dynamics 365 Business Central instead of old Navision / Dynamics NAV. The first supported one is Dynamics NAV 2016. Latest Dynamics NAV 2018. For Dynamics 365 Business Central, first (still supported) release is up to v14 to v15, v16 and v17. Soon to be released v18.

You can get a trial SaaS release for 30 days in cloud so you and your client can verify if it meets business requirements. Partners and customers in this forum will probably mention specific third party extensions that can be adjusted on top of standard Dynamics 365 Business Central related to procurement.

    Thanks.
