Hi:
My colleague with whom I'm testing Approvals in the Sandbox is not receiving approval e-mails. At first, I found that odd.
But, I just found a link in the NAV Community (below) explaining that e-mails are not necessarily sent out. Is this true in Business Central, as well?

Make sure you have configured the SMTP mail Setup.
As stated, make sure you have the user set up in the Approval group, and user set up, and that email notification is selected

I'm simply using the default purchasing invoice workflow. Nothing customized. My question is "do workflows in BC not come out of the box with the ability to send email notifications unlike NAV?".

Yes it can be used like NAV, but the above mentioned setups must be done properly and there itself you can check your flow, with an test mail.
