Difference in Tables between Excel Table Browser and Excel Data Connector - is there a map?

Posted on by 15

Hi,

I'm new to Dynamics F&O.

I have been (painfully) pulling sales data using the table browser tool in Excel.

I have seen the data connector tool, but the table names are not the same, and some tables which have similar names turn out to not hold the same data.

Is there a mapping tool?

For example, in the Table browser I was using the InventTrans table and was able to join its InventTransOrigin fieldto the InventTransID field on the CustInvoiceTrans table (Customer Invoice lines) and with that I could piece together the products and quantities sold to the customer invoice.

In the Excel data connector, (which also matches the BYOD tables our consultants are building for us) the tables are different, for example instead of the InventTrans table, we have the table InventTransStaging with the field InventTransOrigin, but the field here is data type big int instead of characters, and it doesn't match the data pulled using the Table browser.

Our consultants are in Brazil so the language barrier is causing added complications.
I am trying to replicate the table Browser set up I have in the BYOD SQL database to create a sales report but I am confused as to why there are so many differences, can anyone help please?
