Opening GP 2018 (18.00.0715.000) hangs at splash screen when trying to open

Opening GP 2018 (18.00.0715.000) hangs at splash screen. Was working fine on Friday. Only happens on terminal sever running Windows 2016 and for any users including the domain administrator account even when using "run as administrator". All the PC's are able to open GP fine. Has this happened to anyone else? Any ideas on a resolution?

    An update on issue. GP seems to open while the print spool service is stopped. Suspect issue may be due to a print driver update or something similar. Still troubleshooting.

    Narrowed down issue to Ricoh MP 2504ex PCL 6 - once we removed this printer (which was difficult as it kept freezing so had to do this from the registry) then the print services started behaving and we no longer have any issues opening GP.
