Multicurrency Budgets - Combine or Consolidate?

We are preparing our 2018 budget to upload into GP. This year, we actually want to have a Canadian budget, US budget, and Australian budget.

Is there a way that we can upload these three budgets into GP and have the system consolidate these together? I cannot seem to do this. I have two “2018 BUDGET”, one in Canada and one in the US. When I run Management Reporter, it only pulls up the US one (ignoring the Canadian one)

Also, is there a way that for us to put in a forecasted exchange rate, so that as we progress throughout the year, the budgeted exchange rate doesn’t change?

Thank you!

    Hi,

This feature has been introduced in GP 2010 already .. so it has been around for a while.. read on more about this on Jen's blog post :

I'm talking multiple multicurrency budgets....I do know about that combine feature, but how do I create, then combine multiple budgets with different currencies (maybe in MR?).

    Thanks,

    Lisa

    Sorry Lisa,

wasn't reading your OP correctly.. :-)..  No there is no way you can do this in GP.. but can you extend a little bit what you mean under multi-currency budgets ? are those different budget going to be all in a single 'GP' company or multiple companies ?  Is your Chart of Account setup in a way to differentiate the regions ?

In the 1st case, MR2012 would be able to handle the currency conversion when doing a consolidated report across multiple companies, by using a tree and the MC function..

In the 2nd case, you'd need to report everything in functional currency for the whole company, but your budget would be uploaded to different GL accounts in there respective 'native' currency (i.e. AUD, USD & CAD).

Am I understanding it right ?
