Sequence number and record version in purchase orders

Hi,

Does anyone know/can confirm if this number is unique?  Also, can you confirm that is auto generated by D365 and does not abide to any user setup number sequence?

What is the record version? Another unique number?

Thanks in advance!

    Hi CapsLock,

Record version is used to maintain the record version on the database - It will be updated by the system itself.

Initially when you create new record it will be defaulted to 1 - Upon updating of the same record it will be updated to some random number - Mainly this field is used by the system to identify the update conflicts. Refer to the below Microsoft documentation.

    https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/dynamicsax-2012/developer/optimistic-concurrency-control?redirectedfrom=MSDN

Sequence number is not related to number sequence - It is also a system field and I guess it will be unique - Also I think Sequence number field is same as that of RecId field on the table.

    Thanks,

    Girish S.
