How correct an MO for a Kit

Hello,

We had a user create some Quick MO's (Manufacturing orders) for some Kit type items. We are now showing quantities on hand for the items. This was an error and we need to reverse. How do we correct this as the MO is closed and GP does not allow inventory adjustments for kit type items.

Also, it seems like GP should have prevented this in the first place, is there a hot fox/ or other fix to prevent this from happening.
