Delete option is not enabled

Hi All ,

The database log enable will give the option to track the changes of records like Insert / Update / Delete / Rename in AX 2012.

When i open the Database log from and selected the table , then selected some fields ,but only update field has the option to place the check mark in AX 2012.

Rest of the options like Track new transactions/ Delete / Rename are in non editable mode against those table fields in database log in AX 2012.

Could i know when these options (new transactions/ Delete / Rename ) will be editable mode against the fields in the database log ?

You can't create or delete an individual field - only updates are supported for fields. If you want to log deleting, check the checkbox table level and you'll get a special line without Field label where all operations are supported.

Thank you Martin for the reply ,

You mean to say that in the special line i need to place the check mark the for the 3 fields like Track new transactions/ Delete/Rename , then system would track those information also.

    Am i right ?

If you tick check boxes for three fields and the table itself, you'll get four lines - one for each field and one for the whole table (with no value in Field label). Only the line without field accepts actions for records such as deletion.

I think your problem lies in one step back. You likely ticked only checkboxes for fields but not the root one representing the whole table.

After i checked one of the field, automatically the root table is being checked by system. Still the delete option is not enabled.

Finally I got it, we should not select any of the field if you want to record Delete log on that table, just select the table and go to next step, then all the checkboxes are enabled. But this will log the history of all the fields in that table, which may result into performance impact.

    Thank you for the reply.
