i am unable to reverse the production orders in which co-product is produced. other than that all production orders can be reversed. is this the setup related issue or this is the default behavior of dynamics ax 2012
Hi Imran,
In normal, the system allows for the reversal of production orders with by-products.
In which state do you want to reverse the batch order? Does the system prompt you with any error messages?

i want to reverse the production order to created state and then wanted to delete that production order.
following error given by the system
"Quantity returned exceeds updated physical and financial quantity"

The error message did that one pop up directly after the order was created or have some steps already been processed?

Are you manually posting the journal on a production order or doing by the feature of reversing the status?
Please see the production postings for this order. Look at the cost of consumption, and see if the cost you are trying to reverse is not greater than the cost you consumed?

i am not posting the journal manually, and yes i am using the feature of reset status in process tab of production control module.
can you please guide me to see the cost of sub-component? where to find the cost?
Have you already checked the available hotfixes on LCS?
What you experience might be caused by a bug especially if you operate an older R3 version.
Would suggest that you double check the available fixes there.
we are still using RTM version this may be causing the issue.
Go to All production Orders> View Action Pane> Related information> Production posting.
there is 0 cost defined for this item. basically this item is the scrap generated during the production. for example when we run production order for 1000 pieces then the scrap of 1 kg is produced. we have defined this scrap item as co-product in the the BOM.

If you are still on RTM then check LCS for available hotfixes.
This version is already very old and what you experience might be caused by a system bug.
If this is a known one, then it will be listed in LCS.
