Payroll Paycode Setup for Overtime changes the Pay Factor incorrectly

We are using GP 2013 12.00.2038 (R2). In payroll we use Overtime Methods in Advanced Payroll to compute the overtime premium due to the employee. This all works great except for the default in setting up the code for an employee.

We have the OT code setup in the system as an Overtime code based on the REG paycode ($10) with a payfactor of 1, since the Overtime Methods take care of the overtime premium.

When I setup a new employee and add the OT paycode I have 2 options.

1. I can use the company default which is $10 per hour and a Pay Factor of 1. This is not correct if the person does not make $10 per hour.

2. I can use the employee default which brings in the correct hourly rate from the REG paycode, but it changes the Pay Factor to 1.5 instead of the correct 1.

Where is the Pay Factor of 1.5 coming from when I use the employee default since this is not correct?

Thanks for any help.

What does your Pay Code setup look like for that Pay Code? Is the pay factor set to 1.5 there?

I am talking about the screen before this one. We have an OT1 Method setup in this screen, but when we add our overtime pay code to an employee (ours is OT, it looks like yours is OVER), using EMPLOYEE defaults, it fills in the Pay Factor with 1.5 and as far as we can tell, there is no 1.5 in our system anywhere.

    Hi Bob,

You should be able to configure this at: Microsoft Dynamics GP > Tools > Setup > Payroll > Overtime Method

When setting up an OT code you can configure the pay factor, or edit an existing one in this window.

    Hope this helps.
