How Do I Assign Merge Privileges To A User

Hi all!

I'm trying to assign a user the privilege to merge two duplicate contacts. I've assigned them the "merge" security role as seen below:

However, the user is still unable to merge the records. They're getting this error: Error code: 0x80045301. I looked it up, and it appears there's still some security issue with the user.

Can anyone let me know if there's another security role that needs to be assigned? Or if I'm doing something else wrong? I'm very new to Dynamics 365, so some of the other documentation is a little foreign to me.

So does the merge button appear for the user? Is there another user that can perform a merge? If so, can you see what is the difference between their security roles?

Hi,

To know the actual missing privilege name you can open browser developer tool and then select Network. Now ask your user to perform merge operation then look at the error details in Network tab.

The Merge Button does appear, but they're getting the aforementioned error code.

How do I open Browser Development tool? I'm new to Dynamics, so I'm not sure where everything is
