Outlook + CRM Sync

I'm having a problem where a user had written a note on a meeting in CRM and it was sent back to Outlook and received by their customer. Is there a way to change this in CRM or Outlook. I went to personal settings and all of the arrows show data going both ways. Is there a way to change this so it only goes from Outlook to CRM and doesn't go back to Outlook or would I have to create a filter for each user's settings to avoid this problem?

I'm new to Dynamics CRM and as far as I'm aware if you are using server side sync data is only ever synced from CRM to Outlook and not the other way?

    Hi Manoj,

Am I right that CRM only auto syncs to Outlook and not the other way unless you Track an Outlook record? I’m a newbie and still trying to figure this out.

    Hi,

CRM auto syncs with Microsoft Exchange including hotmail & live.com, Gmail & Yahoo using server side sync method

for all other email exchange it requires Email Router which is deprecated by microsoft now

    hope this answers

    Hi Manoj,

It’s doesnt. My question is does the auto sync work both ways or is it just from CRM to Outlook? The only way I can get data to sync from Outlook to CRM is to select Track for each record I want to sync.

    Adam,

if you are using Server side sync option within CRM then it works both ways, for that also there is an option to decide which email needs to be tracked within personal settings as shown below

Hope this will answer your query now

    Hi,

as Adam said go under Settings/Admin/System Settings

Then under Synchronization Tab click on synchronized fields and click 3-4 times on the arrow and you see the desired synchronization like the image below
