How to get Journal Name & GL Account Lookup

Hi team,

I am working on a task & my requirements are:

  1. Create a new Journal Name “SplitRevenue” to be added as shown below.
  2. Create a new GL account selection drop down for default account selection as shown below.

These Customizations need to be done on ProjParameters Table & form.

I can't find any standard EDT to assign it to Journal Name field to get all journal Name using lookup. Is their any EDT's exist in D365fo or any other way than onlookup event handler on form Control.

Also, Don't have any idea how to get the GL Account Selection drop down.

Thanks,

Arun

    Hi Girish,

    Thanks for the Reply.

I got the lookup for Journal Name & GL Account as well.

In addition to above, This task needs to create a journal & post it & other steps are there.

I am attaching a word file which contains the complete task, I need help to understand where to write code & how to start which specified in point 4 in word file.

    Hi Arun,

You can use LedgerJournalName table to add the lookup event handler or use LedgerJournalNameId EDT and see if the lookup loads automatically.

If the EDT lookup doesn't work, then refer to the below blog for adding lookup event handlers.

    https://stoneridgesoftware.com/use-event-handlers-to-override-a-form-control-lookup-method-in-dynamics-365-finance-and-operations/

For Main account lookup refer to the below blog.

    Thanks,
