Product Alternative Item

Good afternoon,

I'm trying to set up the Alternative item for out of stock situations an I have set the Alternative item in the sales tab of the released product but it is not replacing during sales order entry. It just puts the item on back order rather than replacing it. Is there another option I have missed?

Hi Paulina,

Please check in the Sell tab of the Product details form, if you have chosen the 'Never' option. If yes, the system will not replace the alternative item. Change to 'Always' and try again. Below screenshot is for reference.

Thanks Neeta but it is doesn't matter if it is set to nothing in inventory or always it simply puts it on back order.

I have checked the code and it is looking at the total stock not just the stock in the sales warehouse. We have multiple warehouses worldwide and need the alternative to be supplied from the default customer warehouse.
