"Position/pay code link does not exist'

I am new to GP and we use the software to run payroll. As I have been updating employee files I keep getting a message that says 'Position/Pay Code does not Exist' However, this really doesn't do anything that I can tell. All my changes get saved and the process seems to be running smoothly. Is there a portion of initial setup that was done incorrectly, and that is the root of this message? I am unsure of how to solve this popup. I have gone through countless times and to the best of my knowledge, everything is entered correctly, but I will note, I did not do any of the initial startup or data entry. Any information on this would be greatly appreciated!

Hello, it is good to see you are using Human Resource with your Payroll!

If you go to Tools | Setup | System | HR Preferences

Mark the box on the top right to auto create the position pay code links, then you will not receive this error.

    Thanks

    Terry
