Adding aging buckets to the RM Summary Historical Aged Trial Balance report

I'm sure this is a rookie question, but my objective is to add 3 more aging buckets to the AR reporting we prepare. I've followed the instructions provided by Microsoft (https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/857284), however this does not seem to change the report I run:

When editing the reports, is "RM Summary Historical Aged Trial Balance" the correct one to change the report I've included in the screenshot above? Or is there something else I am missing?

Many thanks in advance!

    Did you go to Tools->Setup->System->Alternate Forms and Reports and select to use the modified version of this report?

    I had not done that, so thank you.

    I found the issue was because I was running the "Detailed" report, it was using a different template (i.e. not the "RM Summary Historical Aged Trial Balance"). Now I've unchecked the "Detail" box, I can see the additional buckets, however all the buckets (total included) are zero. Any idea?

    Hi TomW,

    In ReportWriter, confirm the 'Display Type' of the buckets' 'data fields'. If they are the report footer, then the display type should be set to 'sum'.

    Have you aged your accounts so the buckets get filled with data?

    Tools->Routines->Sales->Aging

    I ran the aging, and checked that the diplay types in buckets was set to sum, however the report still shows zeros. If I switch the report back to the "detailed" view, it shows the totals correctly.

    thank you for your help so far.

    Hi Tom,

    If you are trying to modify the RM Summary Historical Aged Trial Balance, then you need to use the existing calculated fields named Current Trx Amount. It's an array field and a field exists for each possible aging bucket. The Display Type should be Sum. This field goes in both the Customer Footer (F1) and the Report Footer. Since it is the Historical report, you will not have to run the aging routine as the system goes back and 'ages' it according to the 'as of' date you want to print. The system uses the apply date from sales to determine the balance of a particular transaction at that point in time.

    Kind regards,

    Leslie
