    Hi Alaa,

Never face that such issue, but just want to ensure telling you only that you can only trigger Business Rule if only form onload and any field value is changed BY User input.

    You sure this stopped working?

How many business rules have you got on that entity?

There is a limit (I think of 10 active business rules per entity).

It caused me great confusion when I first started using them - all was going well and then some of them stopped working...

(You may have to revert to Jscript for the additional automation.)

Try to reduce the business rules and combine conditions. Thanks.

I’m pretty certain there was an OOTB limitation of business rules for CRM 2013 when it ships. It caused me quite a lot of heartache in Jan 2014 (I remember it vividly).

But have been looking into this some more...

I have seen in one of our deployments that this limit has now been well exceeded in a CRM 2013 deployment for the entity I had difficulties with business rules not running on in early 2014, so it may well be possible to alter the OOTB limit somewhere or that a Service Pack addressed this issue at least somewhat.  I didn’t solve the problem, but will see if I can find how it was done and let you know.

It’s just like there is a limit to the number of active business process flows you can have per entity (10), or stages (30 stages) and steps (30 in each stage) in a business process flow.

The maximum 6 parts(charts/views) per 2013 dashboard can definitely be changed to get back to scrolling multi-part dashboard that you can achieve in CRM 2011 if that is what you are looking for.

In 2015 Maximum of 100 rollup fields (10 per entity + 2 OOTB); Maximum of 5 chained calculated fields on the same record.

Microsoft sets these limits to ensure performance.

I have seen somewhere that you can have unlimited business rules in 2015 (both client and server side).  If not, at least the 2015 Spring Release will help (when you upgrade, although if you're on-premise, not until later in the year) as it allows for much more sophisticated combinations of conditions, which should reduce the number of rules required for most functions.

Maybe it's not the solution I thought it was.  If/when I can find out anything more I will get back to you.  Hope I haven't put you wrong.

Have you perhaps removed necessary fields from your form (or added more to a tablet form)?

    • Fields referenced in a business rule condition or action MUST be displayed on the form or the business rule will not run.
    • Business rules which don’t run due to fields not included on the form will not cause an error, it just won’t run.
    • CRM Tablets display the first 75 fields on a form, so business rules will only work for tablets based on fields in the first 75 fields on a form.

If yes, then MSCRMBA we need to submit this issue to Microsoft.

    Thanks.

What rollup/version number of 2013 are you on?

I have seen some forum queries from the early days of 2013 where people were finding they needed to reactivate business rules to get them to work again, and a suggestion that Microsoft were needing to generate a fix.

    Hi mscrmba,

thanks for your comment, so in this case using java script instead of business rules will be the solution ?

If there is a limit then you could use Jscript for the other fields.

    But,

The version I'm looking at no longer has the issue. It's running (SP1 6.1.0.581 DB 6.1.0.581).

I've checked with our lead developer and another developer who worked on the solution (that was having the problem but isn't now) and they aren't aware of any specific change that they did manually to resolve the issue.

What version are you on?  You could try installing service packs / rollups.
