For internal control purposes, I need to generate a report that summarizes changes made to vendor files for a specified period (ultimately on a quarterly basis). the directions listed for GP 2015 aren't helping.

    Hi Jeff

Dynamics GP out of the box doesn't have very much on auditing changes made to master records.

The vendor master tables will have a field for created date and most likely a field for modified date.  They may or may not have a user who modified field depends on the table.

You definitely will not have a description of the change made such as changing the address.

If you need very comprehensive auditing you will need to look at 3rd party products for this such as Rockton's Auditor or Fastpath's Audit software

These products allow you to select what you want to audit for changes. You can select one or many tables to be audited.

    Great name by the way!

Hey greatly appreciate the response, would you happen to know the path to get to the vendor master tables you referenced?  (for instance GP 2015 had Tools>Setup>System>Activity Tracking but unfortunately "Activity Tracking" was not available to me in GP 2013, my only option was "Smartlist Options"

    Hi Jeff

GP 2013 Activity tracking is found in the same path as you have in GP2015.  Perhaps you do not have security access to this functionality.

My preference is to the 3rd party products for auditing changes as they are more robust, but you can definitely start with what you get out of the box and see if that meets your needs.
