Dynamics GP 2015 install issue

Hi All,

I'm upgrading to GP 2015 R2 in my DEV environment. The DEV environment is running SQL 2012, Windows Server 2012 R2, and GP 2015 R2.

I copied the various GP databases from Production, which is running  SQL server 2008 R2, Windows Server 2008 R2, and GP 2010 SP 4.

In DEV, I changed the database compatibility levels to 110 to match the new SQL version. Now, i am trying to run GP Utilities 2015 to update the databases.

It process the product version without issue and prompts me with this:

'A previous upgrade of Microsoft Dynamics GP has failed. To Proceed you need to upgrade your Microsoft Dynamics GP system database.'

That is fine. I expect that message to come up. However when i hit Next it runs through some upgrade steps and then on the 'Load Stored Procedures' step it gives me this error message:

'The following SQL statement has produced an error: EXEC wfDeployClrAssemblies'

After I hit OK, another error pops up:

'ERROR [Microsoft][SQL Server Native Client 11.0][SQL Server].NET Framework execution was aborted by escalation policy because of out of memory. '

Does anyone have any ideas? Thank you in advance for your help.

I'd also like to add that i ran this same process a few weeks ago using SQL 2014 on my DEV server and it worked without any of these issues coming up.

We needed to downgrade the SQL server due to a compatibility issue with another one of our applications.

Try deleting all rows from table DU000030 before upgrading to GP 2015 R2, this table is located in the Dynamics DB.

    I hope this helps.

Jorge, thanks for the reply. I deleted all the rows from DU000030 but unfortunately same error still.

I would try installing the latest SP and hotfix for SQL 2012

    Hi JR,

The error message you're getting comes from missing objects in the Worflow 2.0 setup... Did you upgraded straight from GP2010 to 2015 ? you should try to apply 2013R2 first... that will most likely solve your problem..

If you have also Excel & SSRS reports deployed from your GP2010, please lookup up that other thread about upgrading from GP 9.0 to 10.0 (community.dynamics.com/.../422431), otherwise you run into the risk of scraping your existing deployed reports from your production system (live)...

    Thanks Beat,

We actually don't use any workflow out of GP. Is there a way to remove this entirely so as to bypass loading those procs during the Utilities update?

No you can't, at least not in a way I'm aware off easily....

WF 2.0 is now part of GP since 2013... No matter if you want to use it or not.. leave it or take it.
