Modifying a Report But Cannot Use a Variable

Hi:

I'm modifying an RDLC report for Business Central.

I created a variable in Report Builder for SQL Reporting Services called "AmountInWords" and am trying to use it as a formula in a text box of the report.

But, I'm getting the error shown in italics below.

Is it not going to be possible to use a variable, then?

Rendering output for the report failed and the following error occurred: The Variable(AmountInWords) value expression used for the language of 'body' refers to a report item. Variable values cannot be used in report language expressions.
