How to change the default Quote Print Template

Hi All
I'm not sure how others are managing print layouts - word. There are two problems
 
1. Change the default layout option
 
Instead of the system default option we want a custom layout as below
 
2. Is there a way to UPDATE existing layout without recreating. Either this can be the system layout as above or a customer layout. Currently I have to delete and upload the changes or I will see many versions as above

    You want to remove all the repeated Quote templates?
     
    If yes then you can check out templates and make sure disable or delete older templates, that way you will only able to see limited options.

    The requirement is to have multiple templates but nominate 1 as default so most users will use the default most of the time
