The default rate type is not assigned to an exchange table

Posted on by 2,947

In Multicurrency Access setup, Exchange Table IDs are not listed when i select z-US$, but they are listed for other currencies. is this normal behaviour?

The functional currency for this company is Z-UK. How can i select the Exchange Table IDs for Z-US$ under this company?

I am trying to enter intercompany transaction in another company and after selecting this company I am getting "The default rate type is not assigned to an exchange table" error messge.

    Susan, Thanks

I skipped the step 2 and thus had an issue.

    Thanks again..

These are the steps to enable multi currency functionality.

    1) setup currencies - (Tools - Setup - System - Currency)

    2) setup Exchange table for currency - (Tools - Setup - System - Exchange Table)

    3) Give access to the currency and exchange table to the company - (Tools - Setup - System - Multicurrency Access)

    4) Assign a Rate Type ID to this Exchange Table - (Tools - Setup - Financial - Rate Types)

    5) Setup Exchange rates for the currency  (Cards - System - Exchange Table)

I do not have currency under company. seems like we two have diff version of GP.

I have currency under system and there is no Exchange Table ID to select.

You need to assign the currency to the company (Tools>>Setup>>Company>>Currency).  And then in the second section (same location) assign the Exchange Table Id's to the company.
