Have the same issue. We have around 20 users but 2 of them are getting this error within the most up to date version of Outlook Desktop on O365.
Agreed,
I have one user in our org. We tried installing the webview2 suggested earlier in this thread, which did not work in this instance.
The only difference between the one user and everyone else is that their device was accidentally upgraded to Windows 11.
For now they are using OWA if they need to track emails.
I don't know if that makes any difference.
I logged a ticket with MS about this before Xmas. No respons yet, but I'll post updates on this topic as soon as I have news.
For now I have 3 customers with this issue.
1) tenant runs in the UK. No users in the UK have this problem. All other users (in Germany and The Netherlands) do have this problem
2) tenant runs in the NL. No users in the NL have this problem. All other users (in the UK and Spain) do have this problem
3) tenant runs in the NL. All 30 users work in the NL. Half of them have this issue, the rest not (yet)
Strange, right?
Hi,
Yesterday I ran into the same error message during a go-live.
Although everything worked fine in UAT, it didn't for production.
I was able to resolve it by installing the Webview2 component from WebView2
Hope it works for you as well
Hi Bernard,
The only option I think there is, is to raise a support call with Microsoft directly.
At this moment in time the workaround is working for us and we are going through some changes with our environments so I'm waiting until these are complete before taking this further.
If you do get any joy from Microsoft please post on here or ask them to submit a solution to the general community
Hi
Is there really no solution for that issue?
My customer used the his setup (working with office installation on a terminal server ) since more than one year and suddenly in December 22 they got the message that the outlook version is no longer supported
Our investigation found out that maybe the problem is, that this version uses the internet explorer (that is no more supported …) within the App.
But we couldn’t find any possibility to redirect the App to to edge …
The workaround using the outlook web version is not acceptable for the customer to work with
So - Please, if anybody has an idea …. Please help
Thanks
Bernhard
"Hi,
I've tried to use the web version of Outlook from Office365 on Edge and can't seem to locate the Dynamics 365 link.
I've tried to add the Dynamics 365 connector, from Get Add-ins, but get this error message. I tried it last night and again this morning
"
I don't think that is the connector you would want. That is a third-party tool. If I'm not mistaken, the OP is having an issue with learn.microsoft.com/.../basic-navigation this. Which is configured via D365 settings.
There used to be a download I think it's from 2018 but I don't think you install the add-in that way any longer. I think it's only done via the configuration panel I boxed in red in the screenshot I shared in this reply.
I have a user that has this issue.
Windows 11, updated to the current release version.
Outlook version 2208 Build 15601.20378 Semi-Annual Enterprise Channel Preview Going to try to downgrade them to the 2202 Semi-Annual Enterprise Channel version and see if that helps.
--UPDATE--
Downgraded them to version 14931.20858, add on not working so I removed the add on and am waiting for it to install again. If that doesn't work will look at reinstalling O365 but to the previous version. All of the steps on the D365 Outlook add on config page have been followed. I feel like this is possibly related to the version of O365? Once the app comes back I will test again and also have the user test the plugin in OWA
Hi Maurits,
Not really.
Were using the Office Outlook Web Application (OWA) It's not currently the best solution for us but it's a workaround Our IT Department who deal with Exchange are looking at both solutions (Desktop and Web)
Not sure if you have and if you know how to access emails from OWA and how to track
Open OWA
Select an Email
Select the 3 ellipses in the corner of the selected mail
Select Dynamics 365 option
This will only work for those users with a license to use the application so no need to set them up in the Outlook app as previously had to
Hopefully this as helped??
Hi, did you fine a solution for this?
I see this same error growing on multiple tenants, multiple environments and mutliple Outlook versions (some on RDP, some on full cients)
Kind regards,
Maurits
